i just cooked myself a dinner of beans and collard greens, and for some reason i couldn't get this song out of my head that my friend clara used to sing. so i googled it, and discovered that it is actually a real song!!:

so here's to clara, who, i just learned, comes home crying from her teach for america school every other day. here's to teachers in general, which i will one day become, and whose union dues pay for my beans and collard greens. and, most of all, here's to beans, my true love.
