accountability is the one major buzzword in ed. politics these days. no state government can get away with not having an accountability system anymore. no district or school (public, that is) can get federal title I funding without "opting in" to the stringent accountability rigamarole of NCLB.

someone explain to me, then, how it is possible that this government can get away with this.
