well, that seems to be it for rod paige! when i heard, my first thought was, "well, now bush is going to replace him with someone like eugene hickock" (or possibly bob jones?). but it looks like it will be margaret spellings, bush's longtime policy advisor.

does this mean a slowing down of the voucher momentum? i doubt it. paige was energetic about vouchers, but not as energetic as hickock and nina rees; i doubt spellings will be any less of a bush tool than paige was.
